Marietta and Bill Towry coach the Texas Excalibur fencing team and teach classes at the El Paso Fencing Center. Bill fenced at Kansas State University and Marietta fenced with Sala Windsor. They started the fencing clubs in Oklahoma City and Wichita Falls.  Dallas Fencers Club was their fencing home both competitively and as coaches for many years.

With the move to El Paso they began a fencing group of 6 children  at a historic synagogue in Central El Paso and moved to UTEP's Continuing Education program. The group became Texas Excalibur.

Bill and Marietta are both certified Prevot Masters with the United States Fencing Coaches Association, the AIA (International Academy of Arms) and past Referee Examiners for the Fencing Officials Commission of the USFA. Marietta was the first female International fencing referee at the Pentathlon World Championships .  Bill refereed Team matches at a world level during the cold war where results were hotly contested. "This was the salsa on our fencing careers".

TEx fencers have continued their fencing  as team members with West Point, NYU, Rice, University of Chicago, Ohio State, US Air Force Academy, UT Austin, and of course, UTEP.   Several National Champions and National Finalists later, Texas Excalibur is a competing team for youth and high school fencers from all over El Paso. who grow as they progress through classes at the EP Fencing Center. Now fencers of all ages, and the UTEP Recreational Sports Fencing Team, join them for practice and competitions at the El Paso Fencing Center
